On Friday 30th September 2016, Story Events Ltd. themed and styled the launch of Heston from Waitrose event, celebrating their continued collaboration in true Heston Blumenthal style by a creating a fun, quirky and engaging environment. Heston and Waitrose have been working together since 2010 following a successful collaboration as a Waitrose ambassador, Heston then started working closely with an expert team from Waitrose, to bring his unique and creative approach to develop ‘Heston from Waitrose’.

The launch event was held at 15 Bateman Street, a hidden gem in Central Soho and the perfect setting to create ‘Heston’s World of Oddities’ sending guests on a journey of intrigue.

Waitrose commissioned a quirky graphic artist to create eccentric drawings to reflect Heston’s products available to Waitrose customers. Using this as inspiration, Story turned the venue into a vintage haven full of weird and wonderful objects utilising the four different sections to the space. The main space was turned into a gallery featuring the drawings hanging in vintage frames, which corresponded with the products displayed on white plinths. One of the rooms was transformed into a forest full of festivity decorated with unusual Christmas decorations, whilst Heston’s interview room was a cosy gentleman’s inspired lounge.

The styling included an array of vintage books, lampshade, and candles to help set the tone as guests entered the space. Each room had its own unique twist, featuring small details from vintage jars to tiny butterflies nestled in the forest.
