Nothing quite beats a sunny day in London. From beautiful rooftop restaurants and cute beer gardens, to alfresco cinemas and outdoor swimming pools, there’s something a little bit magic about being outdoors in the city. We’ve put together few of our top activities to do when the sun is out in the capital, so you don’t have to waste any time indoors.

Open air theatre – get your cultural fix and head to one of the city’s open-air theatres, running throughout the season in locations such as Shakespeare’s Globe, Regents Park and Greenwich.

Outdoor swimming – cool down and dive in to one of London’s lidos and outdoor swimming pools. If you are willing to go a little outside the city then head to Hampstead Heath’s swimming ponds.

City farm – get a taste of the rural life and see some fantastic farmyard inhabitants up close and personal. London offers a surprising number of farms to visit, with farms in Hackney, Wimbledon, Vauxhall, Spitalfields, Surrey Quays and many more.

Visit a park – an obvious option, but nevertheless a good one. London boasts so many great parks, with free entry and most offering activities within the park. We recommend taking a trip to Battersea Park; with views of the Thames, a family run zoo, river row boats and a tree top adventure at GoApe, there is enough to keep you entertained all day long. Oh, and there’s Battersea Cats and Dogs home as well.
