The Story team were invited down to Goodwood to explore the spectacular estate and all the delights it has to offer. And we can confirm these surprises were endless!

Located just outside of Chichester, with the South Downs right on their doorstep, it was the perfect way for us to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and unwind in the tranquil countryside. Renowned for hosting the Festival of Speed in the summer, Goodwood Estate is home to acres of picturesque scenery, rich woodlands and thrilling activities.

We were greeted by the most welcoming and amicable hosts. Their enthusiasm for the estate showed from the offset. This made our arrival even more exciting. From the moment we stepped through door of the beautiful hotel, we were hit with the comforting smell of winter log burners and homely décor, not forgetting a heavenly afternoon tea!

A tour of the estate was next on the agenda. Taken up to the surrounding hills, offering miles of jaw dropping views and an abundance of wildlife, we were able to take in all the attractions of the remarkable estate before exploring them further. At the very heart of the grounds was Goodwood House, perfect for all manner of meetings and events looking for a getaway. The striking location also offers the opportunity for you to add a touch of adrenaline to your corporate event. Moreover, the historic motor circuit and aerodrome make the grounds ideal for a unique teambuilding or off-site experience to really impress your clients and guests. Or for a more traditional event, there’s nowhere more memorable to hold a celebration than at the Goodwood Racecourse. We ended our tour feeling inspired, creative and simply in awe of everything we’d discovered!

After being shown to our rooms, full of cosy touches and stylish décor, we were treated to an exceptional dinner in the hotel’s Farmer, Butcher, Chef restaurant. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The restaurant’s aesthetics were another highlight. Filament bulbs glittered throughout the space and rustic furnishings creating a relaxed yet stylish, intimate atmosphere. We also learnt that the menu’s mouth-watering dishes consisted of local produce. This made for an amazing, sustainable dining experience.

Following a wonderful night’s sleep, our Saturday morning started with a glorious breakfast in the Goodwood Bar. We were then truly pampered in the hotel’s Waterbeach Spa, each of our treatments left us feeling rejuvenated, revitalised and relaxed. This was the perfect way to end our unforgettable stay, which has left a lasting impression on all of us.
