We were honoured to be asked to work with the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust for the fourth consecutive year, to deliver the National Commemorative Ceremony for Holocaust Memorial Day. After the success of 2021’s virtual Ceremony and with the pandemic still causing logistical challenges, Story were engaged again to produce and deliver a one hour pre-recorded live streamed Ceremony, as well as a small in-person live event the week before Holocaust Memorial Day.

On the 17th January a small group of Survivors, as well as senior political, civic and religious faith leaders gathered for a short preview of the online Ceremony as well as hearing the live testimonies from Survivors. The small reception was held at etc County Hall with Kosher catering and beautiful florals as well as the installation of a Youth Photography competition displayed on bespoke vinyls. The online Ceremony was successfully streamed on the night of the 27th January with over 10,000 households watching live. At 8pm the nation was called to ‘Light the Darkness’ when households across the UK lit candles and placed them in their windows. Piccadilly Circus lights marked the National Moment  by displaying portraits of Survivors at 8pm. As always it was a privilege for us to deliver this important event.

“Story helped us deliver events of high complexity: with VVIP guests, constantly changing requirements, last minute covid curve balls and countless sensitivities. And the team at Story team don’t just create events – it feels like they know us, understand us and really care about us. We love working with Story. We trust them and truly treasure our relationship.” HMDT Client
