Corporate Offsite Ideas

In this blog, we explore creative corporate offsite ideas that inspire, energise and connect. From luxury retreats and adventure-filled weekends to purpose-driven experiences, Story create seamless, unforgettable away days that reflect your brand, motivate your teams and leave a lasting impact.

What is a corporate offsite?

Ultimately, your offsite can be anything you want it to be, an event for your teams that reflects your company ethos and brand values. We can provide endless corporate offsite ideas tailored to your team’s unique needs.

Our clients’ have a variety of aims when briefing us on company offsites and away days. Often, it’s about bringing the team together – something that’s more important than ever in today’s hybrid working world. Sometimes it’s a chance to celebrate company-wide achievements. It can also be a chance to bring teams together to re-align, motivate and develop. More so, it gives teams a chance to unwind, relax and have fun!

For teams spread across multiple office locations, an offsite is the perfect opportunity to bring everyone together in one place. Of course, organising from afar can be a logistical challenge – not to mention the time involved in visiting venues in person. That’s where we come in. As a full-service events agency, we know the best venues across the country (and beyond), from countryside retreats to city stays, to accommodate guest numbers of all sizes, all with that all-important wow factor. We’re experts at managing every detail remotely, from complex travel arrangements to sourcing trusted local suppliers, so you can focus on enjoying the experience.

What to do at a team offsite?

At Story Events, we’ve created offsites and away days in every shape and size, each designed to bring people together and leave a lasting impression.

From curating  a jam-packed weekend for Bolt, blending outdoor pursuit style teambuilding activities with company updates and an unforgettable party. To creating an elegant away day at the Royal Berkshire Polo Club, complete with dining and a marquee we installed from the ground up as well as a range of activities, including wine tasting, polo and pony experiences, tennis and a sports day, complete with an entire brand identity that we created for the event.

We’ve whisked Revlon to York Races for a glamorous day at the track, and designed a purpose-led experience for Chivas, focused on giving back to the community and the environment through locally sourced activities that supported nearby charities.

Some clients love to give their busy, city-based team the opportunity to slow down and recharge in the countryside. As an example, this year, guests were invited to join their team at Beaverbrook in Surrey. Upon arrival, guests took part in ‘Country Pursuits’ lawn games, which included archery, laser clay shooting and axe throwing. For the evening, we had erected a marquee on the hotel grounds, for an evening of delicious food and drink under the stars, complete with casino games and dancing the night away. All guests stayed onsite in Beaverbrook’s 5* accommodation and were able to enjoy the space, tennis, pickleball and yoga before enjoying an alfresco BBQ lunch, and heading home well rested and recharged.

And when it comes to incentive trips, we pull out all the stops. One of our annual projects sees us transporting guests to luxurious destinations like the South of France and Morocco, delivering once-in-a-lifetime experiences in a no-holds-barred showcase of our expert logistics. In 2024 guests were transported into Monaco by helicopter, treated to a boat trip and a luxury vintage car experience complete with silk scarves and bespoke driving routes to explore the city. As well as copious amounts of delicious food and additional entertainment. The final day was dedicated to relaxing, where the guests were able to enjoy the beach or the pool, or continue exploring, all with an aperol in hand of course!

How to run a good team away day?

Planning a company away day involves a lot of moving parts including venue finding, guest registration, travel arrangements, theming, branding, and on-the-day logistics depending on your agenda.

Regardless of whether your away day includes a conference or structured agenda, thinking about the key message and purpose of the day is important. Whether it is to relax, bond, update on business, launch a new budget or celebrate achievements, focusing around this key theme will ultimately help to create a cohesive and purposeful experience for your guests.

Giving consideration to the guest journey, not just for their arrival, but throughout the event including the planning phase will get your guests excited, and help create a seamless day. This could be thinking about the invitations, giving details of what to bring, how to get there, and what to expect on the day. At Story Events, we ensure that every detail is thought through and executed seamlessly.

If your day includes a conference, you’ll need to think about:

  • AV and staging set-ups that make an impact in the space.
  • Keeping delegates engaged and involved throughout the whole day.
  • Breakout spaces for workshops and collaboration and the logistics behind this.

If you’re rounding off the day with a party, consider:

  • Entertainment that reflects your company culture and overarching theme of the event.
  • Creative catering and standout drinks service, providing the best experience for your guests.
  • Lighting, décor and branded Instagrammable moments.
