Kadans Office Launch
A building launch that blended science and Scottish soul.
Brief
Referred by an existing client, we were brought in with a two-week turnaround to deliver Kadans’ Glasgow office launch. After one site visit, we pitched our full vision for the event within the week.
Guests were welcomed by a violinist playing a mix of Scottish Gaelic and classical favourites, followed by a welcome reception with speeches from a University of Glasgow representative, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, and Kadans’ key stakeholders. Guided tours took guests through the building’s future science research spaces, ending in a science-themed drinks reception — LED and white furniture, projections of Kadans’ own research videos, an LED sphere performer, and a liquid nitrogen ice cream parlour.
Delivery
Story oversaw production, theming, branding, registration and cloakroom for the launch. On production, we installed staging, AV, audio and lighting, running the full production schedule for the day’s speeches. Theming saw bespoke branding installed throughout the space, including client-supplied artwork applied to floor decals, window and door vinyls — the client loved them so much they kept them installed after the event. Story also took ownership of registration and cloakroom, managing name badge printing, guest check-in and cloakroom throughout. For entertainment, a violinist played Gaelic and classical Scottish favourites, bringing a distinct sense of place to the welcome, while an LED sphere performer and a liquid nitrogen ice cream parlour — complete with dry ice and smoke for added effect — gave the drinks reception its scientific edge.
