A stones throw away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street, Tape London is a cool underground venue, perfect for a range of events! The Story team were invited to an exclusive showcase to experience first-hand what this venue can do – and we were very excited!

The main space Tape London can accommodate up to 270 standing; with its design and experience built on music, this spot offers versatile spaces including a stage, VIP area and large dance floor. Including a high tech lighting system and AV team in house, it’s a live performance space that can be extensively customised to create an entirely new setting at each event.

Little Tape, Tape’s members lounge, and our new favourite drinking spot, suits smaller capacities at 100 standing. This area has such an exclusive edge, with its own private entrance and bathrooms. Designed with a British feel, and speakeasy character Little Tape is filled with Oliver Twitchett’s music memorabilia collection and its own recording studio; perfect for intimate dinners, or to be used alongside Tape London’s main space for an overall capacity of 400 people.

If the glam and unique service of this venue hadn’t wowed us enough, we were thrilled to be introduced to Jimmy Garcia, Tape’s in-house caterer and ‘dining experience expert’, who knocked our socks off with his culinary creations. Not only did his finger-food taste out of this world, but the design and presentation were something to take note of. Scallops were served in beautiful shells larger than our palms, Duck Sliders included distinctive ingredients which tingled our taste buds alongside cream filled pears hanging from miniature trees – yes, hanging from miniature trees which you had to pick to taste!

At venue opportunities like this we love to get involved and explore new suppliers to keep in mind for future events. We nattered Jimmy’s ear off and questioned him regarding his catering – through this he guided us to a life-sized Boombox, which to our surprise… was a cake! Unbelievably realistic and sensationally yummy, this cake was designed by Tattooed Bakers, who are famous for a portfolio of cake designs including a life-size DeLorean from the ‘Back to the Future’ films.

We finished the evening wowed by the venue, filled with scrummy Garcia treats and introduced to new suppliers! A showcase to remember, and share with all our colleagues.
