It has been the busiest year yet at Story Events, and we have discovered so many incredible venues and suppliers along the way!

London is constantly changing which means new venues are popping up everywhere or spaces are undergoing regeneration. Therefore, we’re taking the time to guide you through a few worth noting down for 2020.

Illuminate @ The Science Museum

This top venue has been lighting the way for new-age museum spaces since February 2019. With over 1500 square metres, Illuminate can hold 400 for dinners/conferences and 450 for receptions. A dedicated in-house AV team ensure quality and attention to detail. Moving Venue are the exclusive caterers. They can incorporate tasty tailored menus and fine food styling suitable for any event.

However, it is the panoramic window on the 5thfloor that really steals the limelight. By offering tons of natural daylight and stunning views across The City, it is a spectacular setting for any Christmas Party, Product Launch or Awards Dinner.

14 Hills

14 Hills is a fabulous “forest in the sky” placed in the heart of our own concrete jungle. This top venue has capacity for a 150 seated dinner or 200 standing reception. Its intimate private dining room has fantastic views and the exquisite design by Robert Angell is flawless. Whilst British cooking with Gallic influences from executive chef Thomas Piat compliments the overall design.

This is such an exciting venue for 2019 because they look to bring the outside in. More than 100 trees, shrubs and vines sit amongst the wooden beams. 14 Hills also resides below the largest public roof garden in London – 120 Fenchurch Street – which is the perfect escape for the chic cosmopolitan clientele.

Kimpton Fitzroy

There are no shortages when it comes in hotels in London. However, as the first UK property for the luxury, boutique Kimpton brand, this is not one to miss. Named after Charles Fitzroy Doll, the architect of the building, The Kimpton Fitzroy has recently undergone renovations. Featuring 334 bedrooms as well as a 1920’s inspired jazz and cocktail bar Fitz’s. The bar is equally flamboyant and sultry, containing original stained-glass windows, plush soft seating as well as works from Milan-born contemporary artist 2501.

Finally, Neptune restaurant offers a modern British menu which is thoughtfully sourced. Based in a revived Grade II-listed dining room, the graphic wooden floor, peach colour scheme and gorgeous central oyster bar, create a space that is as elegant as it is inviting from morning to late evening.

Bob Bob Cité

Art deco décor takes the lead in this top new venue. The ‘Orient Express’ has also inspired the design in this space, complete with retro leather booth seating areas and vintage-style tinted glass chandeliers. This really gives this place the wow factor.

The famous “Press For Champagne” buttons are one of the main features of the sister restaurant Bob Bob Ricard and do not disappoint in their City hub. The champagne can now be ordered in Magnums, Jeroboams, and even Methuselahs, super swanky!

Chef Eric Chavot leads the kitchen team, which means that the menu will switch from Anglo-Russian to French, country-style dining. The restaurant can accommodate up to 190 guests split over two dining rooms for dinner. Events can also take place in their three beautiful private rooms which each have their own reception areas overlooking the city views! We are sure these will be popular with our City based clients looking to host lovely lunches or divine dinners.

Nobu Hotel London Portman Square

This is certainly one to watch in 2020!

Nobu Hotels are a worldwide brand that blends modern cool luxury and minimal Japanese tradition. The concept is a lifestyle hotel that stemmed from world-renowned Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper. They have curated the Nobu Hotel concept which celebrates individual experience and the difference in every property.

Located in the heart of London’s Marylebone W1, Nobu Hotel London Portman Square will feature 249 guest rooms and suites, together with a Nobu restaurant, ballroom and meeting spaces. The venue will be beautifully conceptualised by London-based architecture and interior design firm, David Collins Studio, in conjunction with Make Architects. We can’t wait to let you know more in the New Year!
