Every year we recognise Mental Health Awareness week and while our team’s wellbeing is always at the top of our agenda, it is always a valuable opportunity for businesses to focus on the support that they offer their employees in this week. Read on to see what our team got up to…

Although everybody experiences fluctuations in their emotional well-being to varying degrees, not enough people talk about it and when stress and tension build up over time it affects our energy levels, our relationships, our ability to do our jobs and most importantly, our mental health.

Mental Health Awareness Week was a nationally recognised event, but it was also an opportunity for companies and employees to reflect on workplace stress and explore the options for managing it. This year at Story Events HQ, the team were provided with some tools and treats to help nurture their own mental health…

During Mental Health Awareness Week, the team focussed on mental health strategies that make a difference in today’s changing world. We were all asked to write down some positive notes about each member of the team and put them in a jar. This task aimed to get the team thinking about positive affirmations as well as providing a lovely boost!  We were also treated to some small gestures aimed at relieving stress as well as highlighting the value of mental health support. The day started with a healthy breakfast of fresh fruits and snacks and by mid-morning, each person received their envelope of handwritten messages. Later on, the team were treated to a hand and arm massage from Hayley who is a trained masseuse and founder of Body Botaniq.

The week encompassed some of the most important key aspects of mental wellbeing, empathy, self-care, and engagement. The team spent some quality time coming together over breakfast, taking a little time out to acknowledge the importance of a healthy body and lifestyle, and further enhancing our supportive and caring environment at work.
