In November 2022 Story celebrated our ninth birthday! As we come to the end of fantastic year, and we start our tenth, we wanted to reflect on just how far Story have come in just under a decade.
Story was set up by our Founder, Sam Gill, in 2013 with a team of just 5. Today we now have 20 employees and we are growing! In 2013 Sam also created our sister company, Venue Search London.
Over the last nine years as Story has expanded the team we have also had three different offices. The office was originally located just off of Oxford Street, followed by Charing Cross and now Story HQ is just a short walk from London Bridge Station.
The agency has grown in size and so has our portfolio of corporate clients and events. Since 2013 we have managed over 450 corporate events including Gala Dinners, Conferences, Exhibitions, Corporate Away Days, Summer Parties and Christmas Parties. We also adapted quickly and carried out a number of virtual events during the pandemic to support our clients with staying connected with their audiences.
Event locations in the last year alone have included London, Kent, Manchester, Oxford and a wonderful event in Madrid. We have some exciting enquiries for 2023 and we are looking forward to seeing where Story go next!
The London Christmas Party and London Summer Event Show are a huge part of Story’s success and they continue to grow now that we are on the other side of the pandemic. Over the past nine years the shows have won two industry awards including the Gold Award for Best Live Marketing Event at the Meeting and Industry Awards 2014, which we received for the first edition of the show. In 2019 the London Christmas Party Show also won Best Trade Show at the EN Indy Awards.
The first London Christmas Party Show had 583 visitors attend with 42 companies exhibiting compared to 2022 which had 723 visitors attend and 79 exhibitors. We will be hosting our ninth show in 2023 so watch this space.
The London Summer Event Show launched in 2015 with 721 visitors that attended to see 46 exhibitors. Our best year for the London Summer Event Show was in 2020 with 1058 visitors attending and 93 exhibitors were part of the show.
We are about to launch our eighth edition of the show which will be on Oceandiva from the 21st to the 22nd February 2023. We look forward to rebuilding the London Summer Event Show post pandemic.
It has been a great nine years and we look forward to seeing what 2023 brings!
