Story Events were invited to attend the launch dinner of Control Room A, the jewel in the crown of Battersea Power Station. The Grade II* listed Art Deco space has been expertly restored and boy did it not disappoint!

The teak parquet floors, marble finishings and an elaborate gold-coffered glass ceiling presented Art Deco glamour at its most authentic. The intimate evening launched this impressive new space that can hold up to 220 standing, 135 theatre style, or 200 for dinner.

Guests were treated to delicious canapés and drinks during the reception whilst the dulcet tones of the 1930’s inspired singer encapsulated us provided by venue partner Full Circle. A welcome speech was given by Smart Group MD Chloe Jackson before guests were invited to take their seats. Simple but beautiful white orchids and modern lamps dressed the impressive long table by Blooming Haus, creating a striking juxtaposition against the original control panels framing one side of the room.

The delicious three course menu was created by the appointed caterer Last Supper. A powerful poem was read before the starter “Forest Findings”, sparking our excitement for the first course. The main course consisted of wild bass with delica pumpkin, thyme fondant potato, sea purslane and sea herb velouté. Each course was expertly paired with wines hand-picked by the sommelier.

Guests were then invited to delight in the dessert station offering a range of five dessert options, one for every pallet, as well as a spiced rum miro espresso martini to finish the evening.

This is an exciting new venue at one of London’s most iconic landmarks. Please get in touch here to find out more about the venue and to start planning your next event!
